The UK Chancellor Sajid Javid has announced he is planning to hold his first Budget on Wednesday 6 November 2019. This means the next Budget is set to take place less than a week after the UK Government's planned departure from the EU.
As it could be the first post-Brexit Budget, Mr Javid, said that he would be "setting out our plan to shape the economy for the future and triggering the start of our infrastructure revolution. This is the right and responsible thing to do – we must get on with governing."
HM Treasury added that in the event of no deal on 31 October, a Budget would follow "in the weeks thereafter."
