Carey Olsen appoints BVI dispute resolution head

Carey Olsen has appointed Alex Hall Taylor QC as a partner and head of its British Virgin Islands (BVI) dispute resolution and litigation practice.

He replaces Ben Mays, who after over five years in the role is retiring from the legal profession. He led Carey Olsen’s on-the-ground recovery in the BVI following Hurricane Irma.

Mr Hall Taylor joins the firm from Maples and Calder, where he jointly led the BVI dispute resolution and insolvency team. He moved to the BVI in 2018, having previously spent over 20 years practising at the Commercial and Chancery Bar in London.
