Cayman Islands confident of removal from EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions

The Cayman Islands’ Ministry of Financial Services is confident that the British Overseas Territory will be removed from the European Commission’s list of Non-Cooperative Jurisdictions.

The ministry is in close contact with the EU Commission and is making progress towards proposals which, the ministry believes, will result in the removal of the Cayman Islands from the list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes at the next available opportunity, which is expected to be in October 2020.
