Changes to Bermuda's rules on permanent residency certificate due to come into force

Proposed changes to Bermudan immigration law aimed at providing new routes to a Permanent Residency Certificate for certain long-term residents and families have received Royal Assent and should come into force in the near future, offshore law firm Applebys has advised.

The jurisdiction's government said that these changes support its priority of achieving a "simplified, fair and modern framework for immigration" in Bermuda. 

This development follows changes to the rules on “mixed-status families” that came into force in September 2020.
