City professionals to support Parkinson’s research at the 34th Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon

News Team, 27/04/2022

One of the City’s most iconic networking events, the Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon, is set to return for the 34th year on 10 May 2022.

Over 600 guests will be welcomed to the historic Merchant Taylors’ Hall on London’s Threadneedle Street for this long-standing event which has developed a loyal following since its inception 34 years ago.

For the seventh year running, the annual Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon will be held in support of Cure Parkinson’s, a charity dedicated to funding urgently-needed research into a cure for Parkinson’s.

Guests will have the opportunity to take in the splendour of the Great Hall, Cloisters and Courtyard Garden while enjoying a standing luncheon and networking with representatives from across the City. There will also be a raffle held during the event with many fantastic items to be won.

Over the seven years that the Luncheon has supported Cure Parkinson’s, including the virtual event of 2020, the Luncheon has raised over £420,000 for the charity.

Rupert Phelps, chairman of the Gulls’ Eggs Committee, said: "The Committee are truly enthused to be planning the next Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon back at our 'spiritual home' of Merchant Taylors' Hall.

“Unfortunately we are unable to serve gulls eggs this year due to an earlier breeding season; but we are looking forward to enjoying quails eggs as part of the luncheon in lieu.

“Cure Parkinson’s revenue was drastically affected by the pandemic. We are determined to raise meaningful funds to support their critical work in funding research to find a cure for Parkinson’s. They are the only charity that solely do this in the UK.”

The event is generously supported by headline sponsor CRUX Asset Management.
