Cost of raising a child in UK climbs above £225k

The total cost of raising a child in the UK from birth until age 18 has risen to £225,521, according to insurance broker Reassured.

The figure represents an annual cost of £12,000 per child.

The study broke down the cost into various categories. For example, the average parent spends £1,775 on childcare, £1,545 on food, £1,344.45 on baby groups and £1,107 on clothing and shoes annually.
