Covid 19 income gap: How to top up the 80 percent

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the government announced they would pay 80 percent of wages or self-employed profits (capped at £2,500pcm) for those who cannot work as a result of the Coronavirus lockdown.

While the measures are generous; they will nevertheless leave workers facing a drop in income, especially if as expected, the restrictions last for months rather than weeks.
