Delays to R&D tax claims could cause severe problems for SMEs

HMRC’s slow down in Research and Development (R &D) tax claims could cause severe problems for small businesses, warns accountancy firm Blick Rothenberg.

The firm explained that HMRC is currently experiencing delays in processing R&D tax relief claims, which could have a negative impact on many small IT firms.

Partner Tim Shaw said the delays are “both unfortunate and unhelpful in the current climate where the UK is looking to attract and reassure businesses.”
