Divorce clients reluctant to seek help for mental health problems, says Irwin Mitchell

The majority of people going through divorce or dealing with family issues such as access to children are reluctant to seek help for mental health issues despite often showing clear signs of distress, according to national law firm Irwin Mitchell.

Ros Bever, head of family at the firm, said clients need to understand that feeling stressed, angry or emotional “is a normal reaction to the situation they’re in.”

In fact, she “would challenge most people going through a relationship breakdown not to have a bit of a wobble.”
