‘DIY’ divorces have grown in popularity with 58 percent of all divorces in 2019/20 seeing neither party represented by a lawyer.
This is an increase from 46 percent the previous year, according to Wilsons.
The private client law firm believes the pandemic has contributed to the rise in DIY divorces. Those who have suffered financially may want to reduce costs by representing themselves in court.
