eprivateclient Excellence Awards launched to recognise the very best of the private client advisory sector

News Team, 08/02/2021

PAM Insight, producers of the PAM Awards, has today announced the official launch of the inaugural eprivateclient Excellence Awards programme, focused exclusively on the UK and offshore legal, tax, fiduciary and advisory professions.

The announcement of the awards will take place on 24 June 2021 at a live virtual gala event.

Commenting on the launch of these new Awards, James Anderson, founder of PAM Insight and chairman of the eprivateclient Excellence Awards judging panel, said: “The PAM Awards have enjoyed sustained success as the wealth management sector’s stand out Awards programme since their launch in 1999. This has been due to their now well-established reputation for transparency, independence and rigour.”

“For many years we have resisted the obvious temptation to replicate this winning formula across the legal, tax and fiduciary professions, due to the inevitably more esoteric nature of the services provided.” He continued.

“However, with encouragement from leading private client professionals, who have grown increasingly disenchanted with existing awards programmes, we have been persuaded that now is the right time to launch a more sharply focused, purely merit-based Awards programme, that reflects which firms are genuinely at the forefront in shaping the future of the UK and offshore private client advisory professions.”

For more than a decade, eprivateclient has been producing carefully researched rankings, to reflect the pecking order across the core private client advisory professions. Tier I ranked firms and a select number of firms in lower tiers will make up the long shortlist of leading contenders who will be eligible to enter these new awards.

“This is a unique and exclusive opportunity for leading firms to leverage their eprivateclient ranking as genuine top-ranked professional advisory firms”, said Mr Anderson.

Like the PAM Awards, the eprivateclient Excellence Awards have only a limited number of focused award categories, to ensure that they “carry real substance”, according to Mr Anderson.

List of Award Categories:

1. Private Client Law Firm (large)

2. Private Client Law Firm (boutique)

3. Family Law Firm (large)

4. Family Law Firm (boutique)

5. Offshore Law Firm (multi-jurisdiction)

6. Offshore Law Firm (single jurisdiction)

7. Private Client Accountancy Firm (large)

8. Private Client Accountancy Firm (boutique)

9. Private Client Trust Company (listed & bank/PE owned)

10. Private Client Trust Company (independent)

11. Investment Consulting Firm (independent)

12. Wealth Planning Firm (independent)

“We are well aware of the amount of time that firms already devote to entering other rankings and awards. Thus, we have created a much easier, streamlined entry process than the one we use for the PAM Awards, which will enable us to focus on entrants’ specific achievements over the past calendar year, without compromising on the rigour of the judging process”, said Mr Anderson

As with the PAM Awards, invitations to the eprivateclient Excellence Awards event will be managed completely separately from the judging process, so as to ensure there is no link between ticket orders and Awards results.

Due to the continued restrictions on movement and social activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s inaugural event will consist of a virtual awards live broadcast, preceded by a virtual reception and dinner, similar in format to the intimate virtual leaders’ dinners PAM Insight has been running successfully for some time under lockdown.

The eprivateclient Excellence Awards promises to be this year’s most talked about awards programme in the private client calendar, according to Mr Anderson.

"This is not least because, for the first time, we are providing an opportunity for the acknowledged leading firms in the core segments of the private client advisory world to compete against their nearest rivals in a rigorous, relevant, transparent and wholly independent Awards programme, unfettered by vested interests, bias and lack of focus”, said Mr Anderson.

Qualifying firms interested in entering the awards should email kstokes@paminsight.com. Firms interested in attending the event should email amiddleton-pink@paminsight.com.
