EY fined $100 million by US regulator over exam cheating

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has fined EY $100 million for cheating by its audit professionals on exams.

EY was also found to have withheld evidence of this misconduct from the SEC’s Enforcement Division during the division’s investigation of the matter.

The exams in question are required in the US to obtain and maintain Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licenses.
