The fiduciary sector has in recent years “settled into a permanent state of creative tension”, Druces’ new head of business development, Julian Washington, told an audience of senior trust professionals at the eprivateclient Annual Trust Dinner last month.

Mr Washington, a former partner at UK law firm Forsters, who joined Druces this autumn after almost a decade in the fiduciary and banking sector at RBC Wealth Management, explained that despite its origins going back to the days of the Crusades, trusts are now at the heart of a very modern industry indeed.
