The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) has cleared a former head of private client of overcharging an estate after he charged a client a fixed fee of £45,000 plus disbursements on an estate worth approximately £1.1 million.
However, the SDT rejected the fact that the case, which was brought by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) against Derwent William Moger Campbell, was a “shambles” and as such did not award costs to Mr Campbell.
