High Court wrong to order litigation friend to pay costs

A High Court judge was wrong to order a litigation friend, acting for children, to pay costs after unsuccessfully applying to challenge the settlement of a trust dispute, the England and Wales Court of Appeal (EWCA) has ruled.

The EWCA set aside a costs order made against Susan Glover, who acted as litigation friend to her children in a 2019 case in which she had challenged her ex-husband Iain Barker's plans to share out the proceeds of selling his business.
