As part of what appears to be a global shift towards tax transparency and ‘fair taxation’ the UK government has published the No Safe Havens 2019 policy paper, which follows on from the similarly named No Safe Havens 2013 and 2014 papers.
Ziva Robertson and Elysa Jacobs, partner and associate respectively at law firm McDermott Will & Emery, explained the premise of the policy paper is “very simple – every individual (or company) who is a UK taxpayer should pay his or her fair share of UK tax.”
