IHT tax receipts continue year-on-year rise

New HMRC data has revealed that IHT receipts for April 2022 were higher than the same period a year earlier.

Rosie Hooper, chartered financial planner at Quilter, believes that the increase could be driven by a rise in the number of paid employees in the last month as well as an increase in monthly pay.

Furthermore, this month’s data includes the first month of increased National Insurance contributions following the government’s 1.25 percent increase in April.
