Improvements to England and Wales probate system continue

HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) has announced a series of new developments in its digital probate service, with further changes on the way to incorporate user feedback.

Lawyers have generally had to use the MyHMCTS online system for most applications since November 2020.

However, due to technical limitations and the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Justice extended the deadline into 2021.

Many practitioners have already asked for improvements to the service
