London-based tax and advisory firm Blick Rothenberg revealed that latest UK government tax receipts show that there were a record 213,120 residential property transactions last month as buyers looked to seal deals before the stamp duty holiday partly ended.
Paul Haywood-Schiefer, a senior manager with the firm, said: “UK set a record for one month of 213,120 residential property transactions driven by efforts to beat the Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) holiday window closure (or part closure because there is still no SDLT on the first £250,000 until 30 September).”
