Lawyers stress importance of re-opening a 'ready-made route to justice' post-Brexit

The potential impact of Brexit has been examined from all angles, with each industry facing its own challenges. The legal sector is no different. But, it is individuals and small businesses that will “be among the worst casualties” of the changes to the justice system.

This is if the EU continues to block the UK’s admission to the Lugano Convention at the end of the Brexit transition on 31 December, a group of influential organisations have warned.

The Lugano Convention addresses matters of jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters.
