Maurice Turnor Gardner becomes Movember Turnor Gardner...

News Team, 02/11/2022

UK law firm Maurice Turnor Gardner (MTG) is changing its name.

The firm was established by Clare Maurice, Richard Turnor and Ceris Gardner in 2009 following the demerger of Allen & Overy’s private client department.

Its new name is Movember Turnor Gardner.

By getting this far, the firm hoped to capture the reader's attention…

Partner and head of litigation at MTG, Rupert Ticehurst, is leading the firm’s support of Prostate Cancer UK following the death of his own father.

Mr Ticehurst’s father died as a result of prostate cancer when he was 68.

His father was a doctor and had a prostate problem for a number of years.

“He would have known it might be prostate cancer. He did nothing about it,” Mr Ticehurst said.

Unfortunately, when his father acted, it was too late. He was given a terminal diagnosis of three years and died within a year.

In memory of Mr Ticehurst's father, MTG has chosen Prostate Cancer UK as its charity of the year.

It has planned activities including ‘the Great MTG Bake Off’, a staff quiz, and employee individual challenges, such as running the Chicago Marathon.

For the month of November, MTG will also be known as Movember Turnor Gardner and those who can will be growing moustaches from 1-30 November to raise funds for the charity and raise awareness of the disease.
