Mexico introduces mandatory disclosure rules for taxpayers and advisers

Mexico has introduced new mandatory disclosure rules similar to the EU’s DAC 6 regulations as part of plans by the Mexican Treasury to know what taxpayers are doing in terms of tax planning and tackle aggressive transactions having a tax avoidance or abuse component.

The new reporting rules come into force from 1 January 2021 and apply to either tax advisers or to taxpayers, regardless of the taxpayers’ tax residency.
