New reporting requirements for Jersey foundations set to come into force later this year

An amendment to the Foundations (Jersey) Law 2009 is expected to come into force on 1 December this year, offshore law firm Walkers has highlighted.

Going forwards, a qualified member will need to file an abridged version of the foundation’s regulations with the Jersey Financial Services Commission. However, only certain details relating to the operation of the council and guardian are reportable and the new requirements expressly exclude any information that would allow any person to be identified.
