No fault divorce delay – disappointing but not surprising, say UK family lawyers

The UK's Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has delayed the introduction of no fault divorce legislation from autumn 2021 to 6 April 2022.

While not necessarily surprising, it’s a “big blow” for many separating couples.

Zahra Pabani, a family law partner at Irwin Mitchell, said the courts are having some serious technical difficulties at the moment, making the delay expected.
