More legal advisers are initiating discussions with Will-writing clients about the option of leaving a charitable bequest than ever before, according to a tracking study from research company, Future Thinking.
Commissioned by the 200-strong charity consortium Remember A Charity, the study reveals that 68 percent of solicitors and Will-writers always or sometimes proactively raise the subject of legacy giving with clients, up from 58 percent in 2012. Almost one quarter (24 percent) occasionally raise the topic with clients, while only 7 percent say they never do, down from more than twice that (16 percent) in 2012.
