Nearly half (45 percent) of senior managers believe their business requires them to be ‘always on’, according to the most recent Close Brothers Business Barometer research.
This increases to 61 percent for chief executives, 62 percent for managing directors and 64 percent of chair persons.
Technological advances seem to have increased this pressure, with 33 percent stating they never turn off their mobile phone, making them available all the time, while a further 29 percent only do so when on holiday.
