Singapore and the Hellenic Republic (Greece) have signed an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation (DTA).
The DTA was signed in Singapore by both countries’ ministers for foreign affairs, Vivian Blakrishnan (Singapore) and Georgios Katrougkalos (Greece).
It is hoped the DTA will improve cross-border trade and investment between both countries.
The DTA should lower the withholding tax rates on income flows arising from cross-border business activities, and stipulate the taxing rights of both jurisdictions to minimise double taxation.
