Taxpayers saved over £800m in inheritance tax last year through unlisted company investments

Taxpayers in the UK saved £815 million in inheritance tax (IHT) last year by investing in unlisted companies, up five percent from £775 million a year earlier, private equity investment firm Growthdeck has highlighted.  

Growthdeck says that more people should investigate using IHT reliefs, as the amount of IHT paid by people in the UK has more than doubled over the last decade, rising from £2.4 billion in 2010 to £5.1 billion in 2020.
