The curious link between the SDLT holiday and DIY separations

The Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) holiday has had a widely reported impact on house prices. But, this is not the only impact it has had.

One family lawyer told eprivateclient that she has seen a rise in the number of divorcing couples opting for DIY separation agreements.

Roopa Ahluwalia, head of family law at BDB Pitmans, said a lot of client put off separating during the pandemic, but this started to change during the spring.
