City of London law firm Druces is set to merge with London-based law firm Sykes Anderson Perry, effective 1 October 2019. The merger should strengthen Druces’ private client and real estate practices and represents around £1.6 million of additional fee income for the firm

London-based accountancy firm Blick Rothenberg, together with CogitalGroup, its parent firm, has acquired Rees Pollock - an accountancy and business advisory practice, focusing on advising owner managed businesses, specialising in businesses regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority

Wednesday

Deloitte is beefing up its legal advice service with the news that the Big Four advisory firm has opened applications for new graduate-level legal qualifications within its UK Deloitte Legal practice

International law firm Withers has hired private funds and cross-border investment specialist Daniel Yong as a partner in its growing Singapore office. Mr Yong joins Withers alongside a team of two associates. He previously practised at a US-headquartered international law firm as well as Norton Rose and Jones Day

Thursday

A client of law firm Mishcon de Reya has launched a claim against HMRC for requesting that her bank send information to the United States’ Internal Revenue Service (IRS) arguing that the intra-governmental legislation breaches fundamental rights to data protection and privacy

Friday

A Withers poll revealed that advisers are most likely to support either Boris Johnson or Jo Swinson in a general election. Interestingly, zero percent would back Jeremey Corbyn

Meanwhile, Bedell Cristin appointed three new partners in its Jersey office
