The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) expanded the applicant criteria for its Prescribed Companies regime. The expanded regime - which has been aimed at family offices, fintech entities, government bodies as well as regulated financial firms - is expected to attract companies to establish structures at DIFC that align with international best practice.


Intertrust Group acquired the client portfolio of Van Doorn AG, a Swiss corporate management and private wealth services company based in Zug.

US law firm Loeb & Loeb hired Matthew McKim as a partner in its trusts and estates department in the firm’s Chicago office. Prior to joining Loeb & Loeb, Mr McKim led the international private client group at Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff. 


2020 eprivateclient Top Trust Company JTC announced further growth in the first half of 2020 in its interim results with revenue growing in the first six months of 2020 by 15.2 percent period-on-period to stand at £53.7 million - net organic growth of 10.1 percent.

Offshore law firm Carey Olsen hired Alex Hall Taylor QC as a partner and head of its British Virgin Islands (BVI) dispute resolution and litigation practice. He replaced Ben Mays, who after over five years in the role is retiring from the legal profession Mr Hall Taylor joined the firm from Maples and Calder, where he jointly led the BVI dispute resolution and insolvency team.


Offshore law firm Collas Crill made a number of promotions in the Channel Islands across its fee-earners and business services team with three lawyers added to the firm's partnership including Jersey-based Laura Perkins who specialises in wealth planning for high and ultra-high net worth clients, and advises on BVI and Jersey law.
