1. (02.08.22) Charles Russell Speechlys hired Nicola Saccardo as a partner within its private client team in London. Mr Saccardo joined from Italian law firm Maisto where he was a partner. He is an Italian tax specialist with over 20 years’ experience advising clients on cross-border tax and estate planning matters. His work is centred around the relocation of high net worth individuals to Italy and the taxation of trusts.

2. (09/08/22) International multi-family office Stonehage Fleming appointed Michael Solomon and Dena Brumpton to its group board. Mr Solomon joined the group board in April, following the completion of Stonehage Fleming’s acquisition of Maitland’s private client services business. Meanwhile, Ms Brumpton was chief executive of Barclays' savings, investments and wealth management division and sat on Barclays’ UK executive committee.

3. (03/08/22) Global fiduciary services provider JTC appointed Charles-Henry Courtois as regional head of Asia, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) within its private client services (PCS) division. The appointment came as the firm looked to continue its growth across the Asia, Middle East, and Africa markets.

4. (11/08/22) 2022 eprivateclient Excellence Awards’ winning firm Ocorian made two senior hires to its newly established strategic client group with the appointments of Jamie Gleeson and James Kent. The pair joined chief commercial officer Simon Behan’s newly established group focused on maximising client cross-sell opportunities and delivering Ocorian’s five service offerings to each client relationship.

5. (08/08/22) Ocorian also appointed Gavin James as chief financial officer as part of its growth strategy. Mr James has experience in both private equity backed and publicly listed businesses in a range of industries such as professional services, technology, manufacturing, software, and business process outsourcing.

6. (04.08.22) Ocorian appointed Alice Miller as head of transformation as it continued to grow its business. Based in London, she will be responsible for leading a global transformation programme at the group designed to deliver increased business value for Ocorian and its investors and reports to Ocorian’s chief operating officer, Carole Murphy.

7. (10/08/22) Wealth management and professional services provider Evelyn Partners appointed Charlotte Davies as its next general counsel. She also joined the group’s executive committee. Ms Davies joined Evelyn Partners from London Stock Exchange listed bank Provident Financial Group, where she was group general counsel and company secretary for over three years.

8. (05/08/22) Tax and consulting firm RSM UK appointed Tom Proverbs-Garbett as associate director. Mr Proverbs-Garbett joined RSM from law firm Pinsent Masons after nearly ten years where his latest role was the UK lead for corporate governance. Prior to that, he had also been a senior associate.

9. (05/08/22) International law firm McDermott Will & Emery appointed Todd Angkatavanich as a partner in its private client practice group, based in New York. Mr Angkatavanich specialises in advanced wealth transfer and succession planning, and creating investment structures to provide a tax-efficient transition of family assets between generations.

10. (18.08.22) Priti Patel, the UK Home Secretary, appointed Graeme Biggar CBE as director general of the National Crime Agency (NCA).  Mr Biggar led the NCA on an interim basis since October 2021 and was subsequently appointed on a five year term.
