UAE introduces beneficial ownership regulations

The UAE has introduced a beneficial ownership register and its minimum disclosure requirements for corporate entities incorporated in the jurisdiction.

Re/think, a boutique outsource and advisory company, noted the new regulations -- Cabinet Resolution No. 58 of 2020 on the Regulation of the Procedures of the Real Beneficiary – came into effect on 28 August 2020.

Now, all UAE-registered companies must have: a shareholders’ register; a beneficial owners’ (BOs) register, and a nominee directors’ register.
