UK investors pour over £1 billion into VCTs

Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs) issued shares of £1.12 billion in the last tax year, HMRC figures showed.

This is a 68 percent increase compared to the £668 million invested in VCTs the previous year.

The amount of investment raised by VCTs has increased even though the number of companies operating as VCTs decreased to 52 from 57 a year earlier.

Meanwhile, the number of schemes launched to raise funds increased to 46 from 40 a year earlier.
