UK's wealthy left frustrated by struggles with high street banks

The majority (79 percent) of high net worths (HNWs) in the UK believe too many banks are controlled by ‘tick box’ methods when it comes to mortgages, according to research commissioned by Butterfield Mortgages Limited (BML).

The research, which included a survey of over 500 HNW individuals with a net worth of over £1 million, also found that 12 percent had been turned down for a mortgage in the past decade.

Similarly, five percent have been denied an overdraft and four percent have been refused a credit card.
