Yesterday (10/05/2022), over 400 of the City’s wealth management professionals gathered in Merchant Taylors’ Hall on London’s Threadneedle Street for the 34th annual Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon.

The networking event was held in support of Cure Parkinson’s raised over £90,000 for the charity.

The Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon is a firmly established event in the City’s social calendar, and has developed a loyal following since its inception 34 years ago.

Rupert Phelps, chairman of the Gulls’ Eggs committee, said: “We are truly enthused to be back at our 'spiritual home' of Merchant Taylors' Hall.

“Unfortunately we were unable to serve gulls eggs this year due to an earlier breeding season; but enjoyed quails eggs as part of the luncheon in lieu.

“Cure Parkinson’s revenue was drastically affected by the pandemic. We are determined to raise meaningful funds to support their critical work in funding research to find a cure for Parkinson’s. They are the only charity that solely do this in the UK.”

The funds raised will be directed towards vital research into new treatments to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s disease.

Around 145,000 people in the UK are living with Parkinson’s, and it is predicted that one in 37 people will receive a diagnosis of Parkinson’s in their lifetime.

Cure Parkinson’s funds innovative research around the world which is dedicated to finding new treatments that can slow, stop or reverse Parkinson’s.

The event was generously supported by headline sponsor CRUX Asset Management.
