James Heathcote – an eprivateclient Top 35 Under 35 in 2017 - has launched London-based Sanctoras, which advises wealthy individuals, entrepreneurs, internationally-mobile families on all matters of UK personal tax.

The firm advises clients on a number of different issues including residence and domicile, UK and non-UK trusts, inheritance tax and family succession, pre-business sale structuring, ongoing structuring of family wealth and divorce.

Mr Heathcote said he was “over the moon to be in the position to take this step, and am very grateful to everyone who has shown their support at every step along the way. Being on this side of the table in establishing a new business has certainly been an eye-opener!”

Mr Heathcote, a Chartered Tax Adviser, was previously at Lancaster Knox which he joined in 2019 and was made a director, private client advisory in April 2020 before becoming a partner in 2021. 

Before joining Lancaster Knox, Mr Heathcote worked at EY where he was most recently a private client manager based in Leeds, having joined the firm in 2017. Prior to EY, Mr Heathcote worked as a private client tax manager at Deloitte, having joined in 2012.
