A charity gala will take place at Hotel Wilson in Geneva on Thursday 28 April in aid of Doddie Weir's Foundation and the British & Irish Lions Foundation.
My Name Doddie'5 Foundation – founded by the former Scottish Rugby Union international Doddie Weir after his diagnosis of Motor Neuron Disease (MND) in 2017 - is committed to funding the smartest, most efficient research into new treatments for MND.
The foundation also aims to inform and support patients and their families while also raising awareness through promoting disease education and advocacy.
Eighty percent of the money raised from the gala will go to My Name Doddie'5 Foundation and 20 percent to the British & Irish Lions Foundation, which was founded in 2015 by former England international and British & Irish Lion, Jason Leonard.
Special guests include 2003 World Cup winning England captain Martin Johnson, former Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll and BBC sports commentator Gabby Logan.
