Jersey and Guernsey highlight regulatory standards as they remain on Netherlands tax blacklist

Both Jersey and Guernsey have been keen to highlight that the Netherlands’ tax blacklist is solely focused on tax rate and “nothing to do with regulatory standards.”

Joe Moynihan, chief executive of Jersey Finance, noted that the list is not new, having originally been published in January 2019. However, it was updated at the beginning of 2020, ahead of the Netherland’s adopting the EU’s latest tax avoidance rules.

Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man are among 14 countries on the Dutch list of low-tax jurisdictions. The other jurisdictions are: Anguilla, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Isl...
