The number of individuals claiming non-domiciled taxpayer status in the UK has fallen by 13 percent to 78,300 in 2017-18.
According to HMRC figures, this is a significant drop from the 90,500 who claimed non-dom status on their self-assessment tax returns the year before.
As a result, the amount of tax these individuals paid also fell significantly.
It is estimated non-dom tax payers paid £7.539 billion in UK Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and National Insurance contributions in 2017-18, compared with £9.489 billion the previous year.
