Sajid Javid has resigned from his role as Chancellor of the Exchequer, with only 18 working days to go before the budget is announced on 11 March.
Mr Javid announced he was stepping down from the role in today's cabinet re-shuffle, reportedly because of demands to replace Javid’s team with one run from No 10.
Rishi Sunak, a Brexit-supporting former banker and hedge funder, has been named as his replacement.
