The UK Jurisdiction Taskforce (UKJT) has launched a new consultation on cryptoassets.

The consultation, which is chaired by the Chancellor of the High Court, Rt. Hon. Sir Geoffrey Vos, is seeking input from stakeholders on the perceived legal uncertainties surrounding the status of cryptoassets and smart contracts under English private law.

Its broader aim is to provide a reliable base for the mainstream use of cryptoassets and smart legal contracts, giving market participants and investors the confidence they need to work with them.
