News Team, 07/08/2019

Brown Shipley has appointed David Scammell as fixed income and macro strategist and Amish Patel as senior equity analyst.

Both Mr Scammell and Mr Patel will join Brown Shipley’s expanding investment office which is headed by Toby Vaughan, chief investment officer.

The new arrivals are the latest in a series of strategic hires initiated by Brown Shipley, following the appointments of a new head of direct equity, Amrendra Sinha in January and Cyrique Bourbon as an asset allocation strategist, in April.

Mr Scammell has worked in fixed income markets for over 25 years. His career has included roles with the Bank of England, Central Bank of Finland and the Bank for International Settlements; as well as senior positions at the United Bank of Kuwait, Schroders and Santander Asset Management.

Mr Patel, an experienced senior equity research analyst, has worked for the past 10 years on stock selection and equity portfolio management and held roles at firms such as Janus Henderson Global, Quilter Cheviot and Talisman Global. He now joins the direct equity team within the investment office at Brown Shipley.

Toby Vaughan, chief investment officer, Brown Shipley spoke positively about the appointments and the boost it would provide to its investment offering.

He said: “I am delighted that David and Amish are joining our Investment Office. Their appointments are part of our continued focus on enhancing our investment offering for clients via the addition of dedicated specialists to complement the existing skill set of the team.”
