Carmignac has appointed Justin Kew to the newly-created role of Sustainability Manager, with the asset manager aiming to deliver long-term and sustainable investment opportunities for its clients.

The role is based in London, with Mr Kew reporting to Sandra Crowl, Stewardship Manager and Member of the Investment Committee.

Mr Kew joins Carmignac from Fidelity International, where he worked as senior ESG analyst, responsible for integrating ESG data in the investment analysis and portfolio management process while designing investment process for clients. Prior to that, he held a role in sustainable investment for J.P. Morgan Asset Management.

At Carmignac, he will be a key member of the investment team, responsible for advancing the ESG investment process and framework, carrying out thematic research and designing investment solutions, including impact investment to help meet Carmignac’s clients’ long-term goals. The company is looking to address client demand for sustainable practices, including managing energy transition through low carbon emissions and delivering overall stakeholder value in the companies it invests.

Sandra Crowl, Stewardship Manager and Member of the Investment Committee at Carmignac, said: “We are pleased to welcome Justin to our team. His experience and skill in all aspects of socially responsible investing will be key to further developing our SRI fund range. With Justin and the rest of the team at Carmignac, we will be even better equipped to look after clients’ assets and their sustainability choices.”
