GIB Asset Management (GIB AM) has appointed Samantha Lamb as head of fixed income, as the firm continues to build its investment capabilities to help scale capital in support of sustainable development.

At GIB Asset Management, Ms Lamb will work to develop the firm’s fixed income capability beyond its existing emerging market credit and indexation capabilities. Her sustainable fixed income investment approach focuses on longer term investing, with an emphasis on working with all industries, bringing relevant stakeholders together to improve the world for future generations.

The new hire joins from abrdn, where she was head of environmental, social and governance (ESG), fixed income. Part of a team responsible for £180 billion of AUM, she led the integration of ESG considerations into investment decisions and drove ESG innovation through launching one of the first SRI Corporate Bond funds.

Previously, Ms Lamb held the position of investment director, fixed income at Standard Life Aberdeen. Over her 15 years career, she had also held roles at Aegon Asset Management, JP Morgan and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

Katherine Garrett-Cox, CEO of GIB Asset Management, said: “GIB Asset Management is committed to offering our clients solutions that enable them to benefit from the transition underway to a more sustainable economic model. With Samantha joining the team to develop our Fixed Income capability, we aim to provide innovative sustainably-focused solutions across global fixed income markets”.
