Laith Khalaf set to leave senior analyst position at Hargreaves Lansdown

News Team, 16/08/2019

Hargreaves Lansdown’s senior analyst Laith Khalif is leaving his position at the investment service in September.

Mr Khalaf joined Hargreaves Lansdown in 2001 and has held an extensive selection of positions across pensions and investments during his eighteen years at the firm. He has fulfilled his current function as senior analyst since 2014, offering his research and insight on key matters across the investment landscape to the media during his five years in the role.

Speaking to Fundeye, Mr Khalaf said that he felt the time was right to find a new challenge and that it was a personal decision. He emphasised that he is leaving on amicable terms, and that he currently does not have any new positions or roles lined up at other firms.

He expects that he will now spend some time assessing his options after such an extensive period at Hargreaves Lansdown before committing to new work elsewhere in the financial industry.

In a statement he summarised his outlook on the situation.

Mr Khalaf said: “After eighteen enjoyable years, I will be leaving Hargreaves Lansdown in due course to pursue other opportunities. I’m very proud to have represented Hargreaves Lansdown and to have been a part of its success, and wish everyone there all the best for the future. This is a personal decision I’ve made because sometimes it’s good to change things up a bit and take on new challenges.”

Danny Cox, head of communications at Hargreaves Lansdown, added: "Laith has made an exceptional contribution to the Hargreaves Lansdown story. We'd like to thank him for his significant input over many years and we wish him very well for the future."

The investment platform also told Fundeye that it does intend to replace Mr Khalaf, with the new hire filling the same position. No decision, however, has yet been made on who will take up his role and whether it will be an internal or external appointment.
