MThree and CISI agree partnership to create career opportunities for fintech graduates

News Team, 19/06/2019

MThree Consulting (MThree) has agreed a partnership with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) that will aim to support the professional talent pipeline across the UK financial services industry and convert degrees into fintech jobs.

The arrangement will confirm CISI Affiliate Membership for MThree’s fintech alumni graduates, which includes access to CISI’s Young Professionals Network. In addition, MThree will sponsor the alumni to complete the CISI Level 3 Awards and other relevant CISI professional qualification. They will have access to CISI’s Revision Express modules and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portal to support their learning. This includes over 150 professional refresher modules to update sector knowledge and the opportunity to attend networking events. The partnership also offers CISI Gold Corporate Supporter firm status for MThree, alongside Accredited Training Provider (ATP) status, boosting their credibility in the sector.

MThree is a specialist in the financial services technology talent sector and operates in six countries across three continents. Its graduate alumni programme is engaged with graduates from universities in the UK and places them with financial services firms to complete a two-year fast-track scheme. This includes universities such as Loughborough, Imperial College, Lancaster, Leeds, and UCL. Of the graduates on the MThree Alumni programme 50 percent hold Physics, Maths, Engineering or STEM degrees, while 33 percent hold Computer Science or Software Engineering degrees, 12 percent hold Business or Economics degrees and five percent hold Finance degrees.

CISI is the professional body which sets examinations and offers qualifications for those working in or looking to establish a career in the financial planning, wealth management and capital markets profession. It is an organisation with representative offices in financial centres such as Barcelona, Colombo, Dubai, Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Manila, Mumbai and Nairobi. It has 45,000 members in 111 countries.

Jim Winter, CISI regional UK director was pleased to have reached an agreement with MThree, citing the breadth of universities it was connected to.

He said: “We are delighted to be working with MThree to support their graduate Alumni programme. With their connection to more than 50 universities across the whole of the UK and their strong global financial services employer relationships, the synergies will offer a competitive edge for both our members and the MThree graduates.

Mr Winter also thought the move would bolster the talent pipeline in the UK.

He added “MThree’s key role in bridging the gap between graduates and employers, building soft skills to complement tech skills, will help secure and develop the talent pipeline for our dynamic profession.”

Alex Headley, chief executive of MThree thought the deal solidified its reputation of its training, and would offer great opportunities to their alumni.

He said “We are excited to be partnering with CISI because of the value it can offer our alumni. The partnership enables us to continually upskill the alumni and provide them with the professional qualifications they need to succeed in their careers. Additionally, it is important for our clients to know that the expert training we deliver has been developed in conjunction with the CISI, is accredited and fully relevant to the alumni we place with them.”
