Amati Global Investors (Amati) had strengthen its research capabilities with the addition of Scott McKenzie to its investment team.
Mr McKenzie joins the specialist asset management boutique from Saracen Fund Managers, where he was head of research and fund manager of both the TB Saracen UK Alpha and TB Saracen UK Income funds.
As a member of Amati’s investment team, which includes Amati chief executive officer Dr Paul Jourdan, David Stevenson, Anna Macdonald and Dr Gareth Blades, he will work across the TB Amati UK Smaller Companies Fund, Amati AIM VCT and the Amati AIM IHT Portfolio Service.
Mr McKenzie’s career in UK equities spans over 20 years, beginning in Scotland with FS Assurance, which subsequently became part of Ignis Asset Management. Thereafter he ran UK funds for Aviva Investors, based in London, before returning to Edinburgh with Martin Currie.
He later joined Saracen in 2014 and launched the UK Income the following year. Three years later, he was appointed manager of the UK Alpha Fund, an actively managed UK All Companies product, with a focused portfolio invested mainly in UK small and mid-cap stocks.
