San Francisco-based Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM) has hired Ed Martin as a senior solutions manager for its multi-asset team.
Mr Martin will be based in San Francisco and his role includes building out the firm’s capabilities for insurance companies, using his experience as an insurance company portfolio manager, quantitative team lead, and actuary.
He has over 30 years experience of investment management, including 16 years spent in the insurance industry. Prior to this role, he was director of portfolio management at Genworth Financial, leading the strategic asset allocation effort and managing general account assets.
Before that he was senior vice president and head of quantitative research at Dwight Asset Management. Mr Martin has also held positions at Aeltus Investment Management, Tillinghast (now Willis Towers Watson), and Cigna.
His position at WFAM will see him work closely with the firm’s investment and distribution teams aiming to provide solutions for its clients. Mr Martin will also play a role in promoting WFAM’s insurance leadership in the global marketplace, including through proprietary insurance research, thought leadership, and insurance product development.
