Willis Towers Watson appoints global M&A leader

Consultancy firm Willis Towers Watson has appointed Steve Allan to lead its M&A advisory and solutions business within the company’s global human capital and benefits business.

Mr Allan takes over this role having served as M&A Leader for the UK and Western Europe for the past 8 years, as well as leading the company’s Global Services and Solutions (GSS) business in Great Britain since 2016.

Having joined Willis Towers Watson in October 2000, Mr Allan has worked in New York, Japan and London as a leader in the company’s GSS business.

Mr Allan started his career as a consulting actuary in 1993 and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK and of the Society of Actuaries in the US.

Commenting on Steve’s appointment, Tammy Mattson, global head of Willis Towers Watson’s GSS business, said: “Steve has over 20 years of experience advising global multinationals on M&A transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures. He has deep knowledge across the Human Capital space and understands the needs and capabilities of global corporations within M&A. Willis Towers Watson has over 40,000 employees serving in more than 140 countries. The firm won the mandate to handle Alliance Trust’s investments by using a multi-manager approach. Craig Baker, Willis Towers Watson picked eight global fund managers to run Alliance Trust’s portfolio and it has drastically improved the once struggling investment house’s fortunes.
